Chelation Therapy for Heart & Cirulatory Issues in Salt Lake City Utah

Chelation Therapy in Utah

Improving Heart & Circulatory Issues For Good

“It’s About Getting Your Life Back”

Chelation Therapy, What Is It?

There are several types of chelation therapies used for removing heavy metals (mercury, lead, arsenic, etc.) and excess mineral deposits from tissues.

Here we focus on only one of these chelators, Di-Sodium EDTA, used to reduce and remove the plaque deposited on the lining of blood vessels, which is made of calcium and heavy metals deposits.

Plaque deposits, which are quite hard, like egg shell, cause a narrowing of blood vessels which reduces blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to tissues.

What Symptoms Would I Be Experiencing?

There are a variety of symptoms with arteriosclerosis (plaque in blood vessels) and they all have to do with decreased blood flow and reduced oxygenation of tissues.

  • Pain in legs when walking
  • Shortness of breath with exertion
  • Discoloration of lower extremities, often blue or magenta
  • Poor memory
  • Mild chest discomfort with exertion or mental stress
  • Erectile dysfunction with men
  • Numbness in extremities

By improving blood flow and the delivery of oxygen to tissues, these symptoms will clear.

How Can We Know If I Have Plaque?

First of all, if you have any of the above symptoms, or if you think one reason why you have symptoms or fatigue that relates to low oxygen, then it’s likely.

But there are more objective ways to know.  There are two tests in particular that help to make this determination.

One condition is known as Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD), and this is pretty easy to determine.  We measure the difference between the upper reading of your blood pressure of both arms (crease of elbow) and compare this with the upper reading of you blood pressure of both ankles.  it is referred to as the Ankle-Brachial Index Test or ABI for short.  For accuracy we use a sound doppler.

The other objective assessment is Heart Rate Variability (HRV) which measures the very subtle differences between the beat of your heart, which should change with exhalation and inhalation.  This is helping to monitor or assess how much your autonomic nervous system is playing a role with cardiac issue.

Both of these tests are a part of your first consultation with Dr. Haskell.

What Is The IV Chelation Treatment Like?

It is very simple.

After some blood tests and having started on some specific nutrient supplements, an appointment is scheduled with Dr. Haskell.  To learn more about this 2 hour appointment, click here…

As long as a person’s kidney function is fine, a specific amount of EDTA compounded by a reputable compounding pharmacy is added to a soft IV bag filled with sterile water along with many other nutrients.  To see a full list of ingredients along with the cost of each EDTA chelation, please click here…

Using sterile techniques, a soft catheter is placed within any vein, which is then attach to a sterile IV line connected with the IV bag containing the EDTA and other nutrients.

The drip rate is adjusted so that the IV will take approximately 3 hours.

You have access to a nearby bathroom during the IV.

It is fine to eat during the IV and we encourage people to bring any snacks they prefer.

What Causes Plaque?

Short and sweet, it’s INFLAMMATION.

It’s inflammation out of control and this can be caused by many things.

Inflammation is caused by free radicals, often referred to as Reactive Oxygen Species which are normally in-check through the use of antioxidants such as vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid, glutathione, etc.

Free radicals include biotoxins from pathogens (bacteria and mold), many environmental chemicals, smoke, food allergies, parasites and abnormal bacteria in the gut, and many others.

Through blood lab testing and what’s included with your consult with Dr. Haskell, we will attempt to determine the causes of inflammation which have contributed to the development of plaque.

A Holistic Approach Is Absolutely Necessary

Intravenous EDTA chelation is at the core of recovering your cardiovascular health.

Besides various nutrients, your cells require two things to function optimally; glucose and oxygen.  No glucose and you fall into a coma.  No oxygen and you die.

How you feel is directly related to how much oxygen your cells are receiving.

EDTA will remove the plaque and improve circulation and the oxygenation of your tissues, but to prevent the recurrence of the same issues and to increase longevity, any chelation program must be holistic, meaning there are other concerns which must be addressed.

This is why we must investigate the causes of your cardiovascular issues through lab testing and an in-depth consultation with Dr. Haskell.

Strophanthus For Increasing Heart Health

It is believed by physicians and cardiologists that the cause of a heart attack is due to a blocked (plaque) coronary artery yet more recent research proves that the heart has the amazing capacity to develop small blood vessels to bypass this blockage.

Yet when heart cells do not get enough oxygen, they get stressed and begin producing lactic acid, leading to local acidosis, which prevents calcium from entering heart cells.  Calcium is required for proper contraction and relaxation of heart cells.

Strophanthus gently moves the Autonomic Nervous System away from the Sympathetic Branch towards the Parasympathetic Branch, essential for reducing the harmful effects of stress, by increasing the production of acetylcholine.  Almost all cardiac issues, including heart attacks, are due to a person being stuck in the sympathetic branch.  Strophanthus moves us away from this imbalance by increasing parasympathetics.

Strophanthus increases cardiac output, known as the ejection fraction.

People with cardiac issues often feel anxious and a common comment made by people taking Strophanthus is, ‘an amazing feeling of rest and peace in my body for the first time in years.’ Read more about Strophanthus.

Hawthorne Berry Solid Extract Heart Tonic

The extract of hawthorn (Crataegus oxycanthus) increases blood flow to the heart muscle, helping to counteract one of the most common modern causes of death in industrial countries—heart attack due to lack of blood flow to the heart.

In pharmacological tests on both animals and humans, hawthorn has been shown to…

  • Improve the contractility of the heart muscle (which can lead to a stronger pumping action of the heart)
  • Improve cardiac performance and output
  • Lower the peripheral vascular resistance (reducing the workload of the heart)
  • Steady the heartbeat
  • Increase the heart’s tolerance to oxygen deficiency, what might happen during stress or excitement.

This is a concentrated solid extract of Hawthorn berry with a very pleasant taste.

There are several other important vitamin and herbal extracts which will be recommended.

Inflammation, Bacteria & Chezone

Inflammation of the blood vessel wall can be caused by toxins released by bacteria in the blood.  Low-grade systemic bacteria will most often not show up on blood tests unless their population is very high.

One way to assess a low-grade chronic infection is by viewing a tiny drop of blood under a microscope.

If bacteria are present, then they must be reduced, otherwise the benefits of EDTA chelation will be temporary since the biotoxins produced by bacteria in the blood will induce inflammation and plaque will begin to form once again.

One very effective way to reduce bacteria is through the use of treating blood with ozone.  This therapy, which has been used for over 50 years, is offered by physicians around the world.

Dr. Frank Shallenberger, MD, introduced Chezone, the combination of chelation to reduce plaque and ozone therapy to reduce blood pathogens.

For ozone, we use the 10-Pass Zotzmann unit.

You can learn more about this when you visit our clinic.  Dr. Haskell will be pleased to explain how this works.

Chelation Add On: IV Plaquex To Repair Vascular & Cell Membranes

On the supplement page we covered the BodyBio PC (Phosphatidyl Choline) product and how it’s helpful for repairing cell membranes throughout the body.

Plaquex is a compounded medicine that contains phosphatidylcholine (PC) and is delivered intravenously.

As we age, the PC in the cell membranes becomes damaged by environmental toxins, free radicals, heavy metals, smoking, high blood sugar and stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline.

The consequences of this damage are cardiovascular disease with plaque deposits, and liver, kidney and brain damage.

PC also has anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.

IV Plaquex was first used in conjunction with IV EDTA to improve results but several physicians who continued using Plaquex noticed some remarkable anti-ageing qualities.

Certainly, if we improve oxygenation of tissues AND help repair cell membranes… it’s a great combination.
